OEM Situation
Maintaining a support center for a smoke detection product line that was unique within their portfolio was a challenge for this leading supplier of avionics. This wireless Spread Spectrum technology was a success in the late 1990’s, however with the advent of wired systems in new aircraft, the demise curve was accelerated for this line. The OEM faced a choice of continued resource allocation, or find a suitable option insuring long term customer support.

With over 36 years of transition expertise combined with our avionics/electronics and MRO knowledge, Ontic was able to assimilate this line with minimal disruption to the OEM and their customers. Ontic acquired all of the dedicated assets and inventory, and our people trained at the OEM’s own facility. Customers enjoy significantly reduced MRO turn time, and the assurance that new LRU spares are available for the duration of
their need.
