Ontic signs New License with Hamilton Sundstrand

These licenses are for manufacturing and sales rights associated with specific unique parts associated with the Constant Speed Drive (CSD) used on the F-4 aircraft for worldwide support as well as the JFC-78 Fuel Control used on the Seahawk and Blackhawk Helicopters for Japan support only.

Ontic signs New License with Goodrich Cargo Systems

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading provider of OEM-licensed legacy products is pleased to announce a new manufacturing license with Goodrich Cargo Systems in Jamestown, ND.

The license is for the manufacture and support of the Upper Cart Lift System used on the 747-400 and 747-8I Aircraft.

News of the transaction was released by Robert Sadler, Ontic's Director of Marketing and Licensor Relations, who stated "The support of legacy product lines under license is one of the many benefits Ontic's service provides to major OEM's like Goodrich. We are pleased to continue our licensing relationship with Goodrich Cargo Systems through the addition of this product."

The Product will be supported from Ontic's new facility in Chatsworth, CA. Ontic will begin new production Cart Lift System deliveries for the 747-8I in late 2009.

According to Van Halfacre, Vice President of Goodrich Cargo Systems, "Licensing with Ontic allows us to provide support for our legacy products to our customers for as long as they need it, allowing Goodrich to focus our efforts on current and future platform needs."

This is Ontic's 2nd license with this division of Goodrich and adds to the long list of items Ontic has supported for the Goodrich Corporation since 2002.

Ontic signs First License with Goodrich Corporation for Landing Gear Products

November 8, 2007, Chatsworth, CA

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories is pleased to announce a manufacturing license with Goodrich Corporation's Landing Gear business.

Under the agreement Ontic will manufacture and support aftermarket spares for landing gear on the A-6E, AAH/AH-64, C-2A, E-2C, EA-6B, SH-60B, OV-10 and T-37 aircraft.

According to Paul Russo, Vice President Military Business & Landing Gear Services for Goodrich's Landing Gear business, "The support of more mature product lines under license enables us to continue to service our customers with legacy products and systems in a more cost-effective and time-efficient manner."

Although Ontic has supported Goodrich since 2002, this is the first license with its Landing Gear business.

The products will be supported from Ontic's new facility in Chatsworth, CA.

Ontic adds another Fuel Control License with Hamilton Sundstrand

September 24th, Chatsworth, CA

Hamilton Sundstrand and Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., have entered into a manufacturing license agreement for the JFC 54 Afterburner Fuel Control used on F-4 aircraft. The Agreement is for the operational life of the aircraft anticipated to be 10 years minimum.

Ontic signs First License with Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems

September 20th, Chatsworth, CA

Hamilton Sundstrand and Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., entered into an exclusive manufacturing and product support license agreement for the On-Board Inert Gas Generation System (OBIGGS) used on C-17 aircraft. 

The OBIGGS product is used to pump nitrogen into the empty space (normally filled with oxygen) of the fuel tank to avoid explosion should the C-17 military transport aircraft experience unfriendly fire. 

 

This is the first license agreement between Ontic and this division of Hamilton Sundstrand. The Agreement is for the operational life of the aircraft anticipated to be 10-15 years minimum. Ontic looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems.

 

Ontic signs New Fuel Control License with Hamilton Sundstrand

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories, has been licensed by Hamilton Sundstrand for the support of the JFC31 Fuel Controls. The latest agreement between the two companies was signed on June 27, 2007.

This hydro-mechanical Jet Fuel Control is used on the T55 engine which supports the CH47 helicopter platform. It joins the fuel controls Ontic currently supports for Hamilton Sundstrand; the JFC25, JFC26, & JFC42 used on the T55, T58, T64, JT3D, TF-33, and J-57 engines. These engines are used on the S-61, CH46, and MH53 helicopter platforms and the B707, DC8, B-52, KC-135, C-141 and EA-6B fixed wing platforms.

The news was released by Jonathan Shiebler, Ontic's Director of Business Development, who stated "With the addition of this fuel control to our licensed product portfolio, Ontic and Hamilton Sundstrand continue to expand upon our thirty three year product licensing relationship."

The JFC31 will be supported at Ontic's new facility in Chatsworth, California.

Ontic signs First License with Crane Aerospace

Ontic Acquired by BBA Group PLC

March, 2006

It was announced to the general public that the British corporation BBA Group PLC had acquired privately-held Ontic. 

As is well known in the aviation industry, Ontic is a leading global provider of OEM-licensed parts, accessories and repair and overhaul services. Founded in 1951 as an excess inventory distributor, Ontic currently focuses exclusively on developing product licensing agreements with original equipment manufacturers. Through these agreements, Ontic takes on full aftermarket supply and support responsibility for particular products or services. The company's portfolio includes more than 3,500 top-level parts and assemblies used on a wide range of military, business and commercial aircraft.

Ontic Licensed by Honeywell on Airborne Radar Systems

September 26, 2005 - Chatsworth, California

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories, has added several Radar Systems to the group of products they support under license from Honeywell.

The APS-133, RDR-1E, and RDR-1F high performance weather detection and avoidance, terrain mapping and beacon homing radars are installed on a number of military and commercial aircraft platforms, including: C-17, C-130, KC-130, C-141, P-3, C-5A/B, E-3, E-4, E-6, E-8, KC-10, DC-8, DC-9, B-707, B-727, B-737, B-747, and L1011.

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories, has been licensed by Hamilton Sundstrand to assume the manufacture and strategic support of their JFC25 Fuel Control. The latest agreement between the two companies went into effect on July 27, 2005. 

The JFC25 Fuel Control is used on the JT3D, TF-33, and J-57 engines with commercial and military applications that include B707, DC8, B-52, KC-135, C-141 and EA-6B aircraft. Ontic's Director of Business Development, Frank Costello, said, "The size and scope of Ontic's Fuel Control business has grown tremendously through our longstanding relationship with Hamilton Sundstrand, making it one of our many core competencies."

Ontic signs new License with HR Textron

June 15, 2005 - Chatsworth, California 

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories, has been licensed by HR Textron to support the Vibration Suppression System (VSS) Controller used on the Bell 209 / AH-1W Cobra. Annual estimates are 20 to 30 electronic repairs per year for domestic and foreign military and commercial customers.

Ontic acquires Woodward Synchronizer & Synchrophaser Product Lines

October 1, 2004 - Chatsworth, California

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories, has acquired the propeller synchrophaser and synchronizer product lines of Woodward Governor Company (nasdaq: WGOV). These products are for reciprocating, turboprop, and turbofan engines.

Ontic's General Manager and Chief of Operations James Gerwien stated, "Ontic is in the business of assuming complete responsibility for OEM product lines through acquisition or exclusive license. We will provide the highest level of support to customers of this reciprocating, turboprop, and turbofan engine business. Our ability to adapt to the changing marketplace and deliver acquired or licensed product-for as long as the customer base requires it-provides companies like Woodward with numerous and significant benefits."

"By transferring the manufacture and distribution of these products to Ontic, we can focus additional resources on our core technologies and improving customer satisfaction," said Martin Glass, Vice President of Woodward Aircraft Engine Systems. Ontic signs license with Goodrich Corporation for Motor Products

The products being licensed represent a small collection of Goodrich’s motor products for military and commercial applications.  Goodrich will continue as a market leader supplying a full range of motors for military and commercial aircraft.  Ontic will be supplying non cargo related, non-hydraulic system motors ranging from seat actuator motors to camera actuations, and various AC and DC motor applications.

Honeywell Tucson Licenses Electronic Products to Ontic

Chatsworth, California- Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories, has signed a new license with Honeywell. 

The 3 (Three) products are out of Honeywell's Tucson, AZ facility. They are Analog and Digital Electronic Engine Controls. The products are used on the TFE731 Engine and support the following Business Aircraft: Astra 1125, Citation III & VI, Falcon 10, 20-5, 50, and 900, Hawker 400, 600, 700, and 800, Learjet 31, 35, and 36, and the Westwind 1124 to name a few.

Ontic signs Fuel Control License with Hamilton Sundstrand

Chatsworth, California-- Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories, has been licensed by Hamilton Sundstrand to assume the manufacture and strategic support of their JFC26 and JFC42 Fuel Controls. The latest agreement between the two companies went into effect on May 27, 2002.

The JFC26 Fuel Control is used on the T58 engine with commercial and military applications that include Sikorsky S61, S62; Boeing CH46; and Sea King Helicopters. The JFC 42 is used on the T64 engine with commercial and military applications that include DHC 5, MH53 series, and G222 Helicopters.

Ontic Licensed by Woodward for Propeller Governors

Chatsworth, California-- Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., the aerospace industry's leading producer of OEM-licensed components and accessories, has been licensed by Woodward Governor Company (Nasdaq: WGOV) to assume the manufacture and distribution of propeller governors and applicable replacement parts for reciprocating aircraft engines. The agreement, which becomes effective May 1, 2002, was completed with Aircraft Engine Systems, a Woodward business.

 

Ontic's Director of Business Development, Frank Costello, released news of the license agreement today and stated, "We will provide a high level of support for Woodward's reciprocating engine business. Our goals are to adapt to the changing marketplace and deliver product at a competitive price so Woodward realizes numerous and significant benefits." According to Ted Allred, Ontic's President, "These propeller governors are a good match for Ontic's technical and distribution capabilities. Supporting an OEM like Woodward is Ontic's specialty and core business."

Ontic enhances Sustaining Engineering Capability

News of the addition of Mr. Hiszpanski to the Ontic team was released today by Ontic’s marketing manager, Robert Sadler, who stated: "The incorporation of this new level of expertise into our sustaining engineering department greatly enhances Ontic’s ability to support the older or non-core products of our licensors. Having a design engineer directing our staff enables Ontic to support higher levels of complexity" 

Mr. Hiszpanski has extensive experience in engineering design, analysis, and manufacturing of aerospace accessories. He has an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic School in Warsaw, Poland, and continued a Ph.D. program in Mechanical and Structural Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and UCLA, Anderson Graduate School of Management. 

Ontic’s sole focus is the support of aerospace accessories under license. Ontic does not design or develop products. According to Ted Allred, Ontic’s president " The fact that Ontic does not design product has always been a great comfort to our licensors, ensuring them that we are not a competitor. The addition of a design engineer to our staff will increase our licensor’s comfort level, as it enhances our technical capability and expands the level of support that we can provide through licensing.

 

Ontic announces new manufacturing License with Honeywell     September 19th, 2000

Chatsworth, California,  - Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. has announced the signing of a new manufacturing license with Honeywell. The products being licensed are a total of 73 end units for use on military and commercial aircraft. The products were previously manufactured by Honeywell's Ocala Florida facility. The product types include Motor Driven Fan Assemblies, Heat Exchangers, Fuel Heaters, & Oil Coolers. News of the transaction was released today by Ontic's marketing manager, Robert Sadler, who stated: "The support of older, slow moving product lines under license is one of the many benefits Ontic's service provides to major OEMs like Honeywell. We are pleased to continue our licensing relationship with Honeywell through the addition of these new products." Ontic will now produce the units from it's new location in Chatsworth, CA where the company relocated to in June of this year.
 


Ontic announces move to new facility.

Chatsworth, California - Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. has moved to a new facility to better facilitate the needs of it's licensors and their customers. The new location is over 53,000 square feet located at 20360 Plummer Street, Chatsworth, CA 91311.



Ontic announces License Agreement with Eaton Corporation.
November 1st, 1999

North Hollywood, California,  - Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. has announced a license agreement with the Actuator and Controls Division, (formerly Vickers Electromechanical Division) of Eaton Corporation Aerospace Operations. The new license agreement covers four different actuators, power drive units, and linear flex shafts for use on the Embraer 110 commuter aircraft, the Bombardier Challenger business jet, the L1011 commercial aircraft and the F-117A stealth fighter. Under the terms of the agreement the units will now be produced by Ontic from its North Hollywood, CA, facility.



Ontic is Licensed by Eaton Corporation to Manufacture Hot Air Valves
October 28th, 1999

North Hollywood, California,  - Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., has announced the signing of a license agreement with Eaton Corporation to manufacture and provide aftermarket support for eight different models of aircraft hot air valves. Ontic will now support the valves, used in both commercial and military aircraft applications, from its North Hollywood, CA, facility.
